We can also provide emergency removal and remedial works to make areas safe from dangerous trees and obstructions. A comprehensive risk assessment is undertaken for all tree care and felling works. The risk assessment also outlines how we manage obstructions such as overhead lines, public and private highways, buildings etc. Warning signs and cordons are deployed to shut off any public areas. Tree felling is carefully planned and inclement weather conditions taken into account.
Fantastic service! He spent more time tidying up after himself than it took to remove the stump, even removing some tricky roots by hand. Very polite, professional and friendly even when faced with an over-protective Labrador...many thanks, highly recommended.
Absolutely excellent service, very friendly and polite. Dr Stump has done wonders in our garden and I would definitely use him again. He sorted out all the stumps and roots with no problems. I would recommend Dr Stump without any hesitation.
Dr Stump came to give us some advice and was the cheapest quote around! He came back the following week and took a big conifer stump plus another small one, way below ground level, ready to have a patio built on and a quick brilliant job. Really friendly chap, tidy and timely, couldn't ask for more. I have recommended him to all our friends in need of this type of work.
Fabulous job! Dr Stump takes on stumps others won't touch! Thank you.
Just had Dr Stump round to take out some bushes, ended up getting him to do my stumps and fence too... best quote by far, none of your oooing and tutting, straight to the point. Work undertaken very quickly, started within two days of original call. Fence up in two days, wow what a transformation!! Cannot big these guys up enough! Thanks.
Me and my partner had Dr Stump to remove many stumps from our front and rear gardens. The quote was very reasonable and the job done with no fuss. We're very pleased as it's saved a huge amount of work! Thoroughly recommend!
Very, very satisfied customer here! We made an impromptu call to Dr Stump this lunchtime as I was failing badly at removing some laurel stumps. Just over an hour later it looked like nobody had visited and that a magic wand had been waved to remove the stumps, all at a more than reasonable price. I will be recommending Dr Stump's services to anyone who needs it.
Fast, friendly and reliable service. Highly recommended!

Brilliant guy, fantastic job.
Fantastic job - thank you!
Is a method of pruning that keeps trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow. It is normally started once a tree or shrub reaches a certain height, and regular pollarding will restrict the plant to that height.
Ensures the protection of the tree. When a branch is removed the final cut is made as close to the collar (where the branch joins the trunk or another branch) as possible to allow the tree to heal more quickly, but leaving the defensive ‘wrinkles’ of the branch which protect the live branch from the invasion of micro-organisms.
Refers to the removal of dead, dying or diseased wood and dead limbs from the crown or limbs which cross or compete with each other or are poorly formed. It removes these otherwise hazardous parts and protects the life of the tree.
Refers to the work carried out to the branches, foliage etc which extend from the trunk of the tree, creating the tree’s overall shape.
is the removal of the smaller branches within the crown to reduce density. It does not alter the overall size or shape of the tree. It allows more light to pass through, reduces wind resistance, lessens the weight of heavy branches and improves form.
refers to the removal of dead, dying or diseased wood in the tree's crown. It also involves attention to snags or re-pruning of branch stubs, unwanted climbing plants and accumulated wind-blown debris.
is the removal of the lowest branches to provide a uniform height from ground level and to neaten the shape of the tree. This should not normally include the removal of large branches growing directly from the trunk as this causes large wounds which may jeopardise the life of the tree.
reduces the height and / or the spread of the crown of a tree by the removal of the ends of branches whilst maintaining the tree’s shape.
