TREE SURGERY
Expert tree felling, crown reduction, and emergency callouts across Norfolk
The team at Dr Stump have a wealth of arboricultural knowledge to enhance their work. Alongside tree extractions, we offer formative pruning, tree felling, stump services, and crown reduction. We also advise on tree care for deceased or dying specimens.
For tree emergencies, our team offers 24/7 callouts to remove dangerous obstructions. We work with industry-standard and eco-friendly equipment to get the job done safely and efficiently.
We provide a thorough safety assessment (in our case, a Risk Assessment and Method Statement or R.A.M.S.) before commencing any job. This ensures the safety of your home, our staff, and the general public for all arboricultural work.
For all tree care services, we’ll provide a free quotation to ensure we’re always on the same page. Transparency is important to us, so we’ll break down the costs for you to understand the process from consultation to execution.
A lot can go wrong with tree removal if it’s not done by the experts. With the risk of damage to your property, it can be daunting to put your trust in a contractor to carry out tree services for you.
That’s why we’re Arb Approved; to show our customers that we are ‘the best of the best’. We are vetted to an exceptional standard and follow the British Standard 3998:2010 best practices, meaning we are completely protected by insurance should something go awry.
We’re also well-versed in the regulatory issues surrounding TPOs (Tree Preservation Orders) , conservation areas and planning permissions, so we’re happy to advise on the legal side.
Our team cares about the environment and aims to protect and conserve Norwich and the nearby area. We use biodegradable chainsaw oil and aspen fuel, which can reduce harmful emissions by up to 98%. We also use Tier V engines in our equipment in line with current EU, UK and US guidance to help further reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions.
Staff use machinery with low-impact tracks to reduce markings and impact on the land.
Electric saws, trimmers, and cutters reduce noise pollution for built-up and ecologically sensitive areas.
We understand that handling trees can often be a daunting task for homeowners. If the job isn’t done properly, there’s a risk of damage to your home and neighbouring properties. A tree protection order also has further complications with council planning and intervention.
We at Dr Stump have over ten years of experience and provide a bespoke service to each of our customers. We want you to feel safe and comfortable throughout the process, so we conduct a risk assessment before deciding on a course of action for you.
We have also made several efforts to consider the environment with our work and are considerate of your home and neighbouring areas when conducting tree services.
Our thorough quotation process is transparent with no hidden fees, meaning you are always aware of our costs.
We have a strong knowledge and experience of conducting work within a commercial environment with a significantly larger size, scope, and complexity than domestic projects. We’re well-versed in delivering tight schedules and operating within sensitive work sites and considering environmental, legal or health and safety factors for your business. Additionally, we offer a fast track service for urgent or time sensitive projects.
As tree surgeons with arboricultural expertise, we can provide a practical and affordable solution to plans affected by habitat management or planning policies.
We are passionate about caring for the ecosystem and community within our public spaces and take additional precautions before carrying out works on public land.
This often includes consulting an ecologist to ensure we can mitigate impact on native fauna – for example, we will schedule work around bird nesting season, avoid interfering with bat habitats, and use battery operated tools to avoid noise pollution in quiet areas.
In an effort to conserve Norfolk’s local wildlife, we install wildlife shelters to increase local biodiversity, such as bat and bird boxes, woodland shelter piles of deadwood for invertebrates, and habitats for lichen and mushrooms.
We’re proud to say we’re able to care for the environment whilst carrying out works to a quality standard.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens when I accept my quotation?
We’ll get in touch to arrange a date for the works to commence. If there are any TPOs (tree preservation orders) or you’re in a conservation area, we can apply for tree removal on your behalf.
When do you start the works?
Please be aware that planning and ecological constraints may stall when your tree works can start. Once these issues are resolved, we can schedule the job around you.
How do I pay?
We accept payment upon completion of the job as we want to ensure you’re satisfied with the work. We’ll send you an invoice that you can bank transfer or pay in cash. Please be aware that there is no discount for paying in cash.
Why are tree surgeons so expensive?
If you receive a quote that’s unusually cheap, it’s most likely that a company lacks the sufficient qualifications, machinery, or training to follow industry standards – meaning you won’t be covered by insurance in the case of an accident. A licensed contractor will always prioritise your safety with the latest Health and Safety Executive Guidance. They will use industry standard equipment to carry out the job quickly and efficiently, minimising any disruption to your home and completing the works to an exceptional standard – which is what justifies the value of the job. Be wary of anyone making claims that they can fulfil the same requirements for a fraction of the price – as frankly, it’s often too good to be true. Search the ArbAc Approved directory to find someone you can trust.
Will I be ensured for tree works near my home?
When using a licensed professional that follows industry standards and best practices, you will often be covered by public liability insurance – but tree-related accidents are assessed on a case by case basis. Using an Arb Approved contractor will also bolster your chances of receiving sufficient cover in the event of an accident. However, using a company that isn’t following health and safety guidelines may result in a refusal for insurance. Always check for their relevant insurance and qualifications before accepting a job. Dr Stump has invested into an extremely high insurance premium to ensure any damages are covered in unforeseen circumstances. Schedule tree care with us today for peace of mind throughout the job.
